FIRST CTI Symposium will take place from 9 to 11 March in Zurich. There will be one day of training followed by two days of plenary sessions. This event will be open to both FIRST members and non-members.
The agenda of the Symposium is now online . There are plenty of interesting presentations as well as high-quality training sessions. Last year, the event took place in London and it was a huge success. I regard FIRST CTI Symposium as one of the top 3 CTI conferences worldwide and I highly recommend it for every CTI practitioner.
This year, I will be presenting on “From Excel to TIP … and Back: Technology Enablement in the Intelligence Cycle and the Role of TIPs“. The presentation will focus on the technology enablement needed by CTI analysts for each phase of the intelligence cycle as well as the role that Threat Intelligence Platforms play. This is an interesting area that I have been working on (see relevant report here) and worth presenting on the challenges and the opportunities for today’s CTI analyst’s toolset.
Finally, during the first day of the Symposium (the training day), I will also be leading a training session on “The basics of Intelligence Direction and Intelligence Production“. The idea came out of last year’s presentation on “5 years of applied CTI discipline: where should organisations put focus on?” where I highlighted that CTI teams usually underperform in these two phases of the intelligence cycle. This session would be a great opportunity to discuss the basics concepts and principles of intelligence direction and intelligence communication/production.
See you in Zurich!
