On 22nd of May, I had the pleasure of presenting the findings from the SANS CTI Survey 2024 alongside my esteemed co-author Rebekah Brown . It was an opportunity to delve into the evolving discipline of Cyber Threat Intelligence.

πŸ“„ For those who missed it or want to dive deeper, the white paper is now available here: SANS CTI Survey 2024 White Paper – https://www.sans.org/white-papers/2024-cti-survey-managing-evolving-threat-landscape/

πŸŽ₯ Plus, you can catch the engaging discussions and detailed analysis in the webcast recording here: SANS CTI Survey 2024 Webcast – https://www.sans.org/webcasts/sans-2024-cti-survey-managing-the-evolving-threat-landscape/

Some key findings of the SANS CTI Survey 2024 report include:

πŸ“Œ Geopolitical and Regulatory Influences: 77.5% of CTI teams are impacted by geopolitics, highlighting the need for adaptive responses to global conflicts. 74% emphasize the importance of complying with evolving regulations.

πŸ“Œ Rise of Threat Hunting: Threat hunting is now the top use case for CTI, with 95% utilizing the MITRE ATT&CK framework to categorize threats.

πŸ“Œ Impact of AI: Nearly 25% of respondents are leveraging AI in their CTI programs, with another 38% planning to adopt it. AI helps prioritize and process vast amounts of data, but there’s growing concern about AI-driven threats.

πŸ“Œ Integration via Threat Intelligence Platforms (TIPs): 58% are incorporating CTI into their detection and response controls through TIPs, enhancing the efficiency of CTI programs.

πŸ“Œ Vulnerability Management: 66% of respondents use CTI to identify actively exploited vulnerabilities, up from 54% in 2017.
